CAPO TESTA COLUMNS (SS)

Ancient quarries of sardinian granite are located few kilometres far from Santa Teresa di Gallura, east of Marmorata and west of Capo Testa, along the western coasts of Sardinia, just facing the “Bocche di Bonifacio”. A number of excavation sites, attributed to the Roman age, can be found in the Capo Testa area, mostly along the northeastern coast of the cape, (resort named "Capiciolu", "Li Petri Taddatti" and "Mureddaggia"). In the sea, remnants of columns, sometimes just sketched, semifinished, mixed up with leftovers. Granite extraction activity dates back to the beginning of II century A.C.
